The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls for service between January 7, 2018 at 5 a.m. and January 8, 2018 at 5 a.m.

Impaired Driver

On January 7, 2019, at 10:15 p.m. police attended a gas station on Dundas Street West with regard to an impaired driver. The vehicle had been observed driving erratically and then drove into a skid containing several bottles of washer fluid. The driver appeared impaired to witnesses on scene. Wade Ennis a 34-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with impaired driving, over 80mg and suspend drive. The accused was later released on a PTA and will appear in Belleville Court later this month.

Transportation Fraud

On January 7, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. Shane McFarland a 37-year-old Belleville man took a cab ride from Toronto to an address on Crestview. He proceeded to leave the cab without paying the $480 bill and subsequently fled the area prior to police arrival. At this time police will be looking to apprehend and arrest McFarland for Transportation Fraud. There is also an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Break and Enter and Breaching his Recognizance of Bail.
