A Timmins man faces two charges as a result

After stopping the vehicle that was the subject of the complaint, police began an investigation and discovered the driver was in possession of a large amount of contraband tobacco. The estimated street value is over $23,000. Police subsequently seized the tobacco.
As a result of this traffic stop, the OPP have arrested and charged one Anthony Delorme, 53, of Timmins, Ont., with:
- Possess unmarked cigarettes for sale, contrary to section 29(1) of the Tobacco Tax Act (TTA), and
- Possess unmarked cigarettes, contrary to section 29(2) of the TTA
The driver was released by way of summons and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, on Sept. 3, 2019.
