Halton police investigators are trying to track down an elderly man who has been stealing gas all over southern Ontario.

He has even done it enough that officers have even given him a nickname: “Mr. Fill and Fly.”

Police say the man has hit gas stations in Burlington, Oakville, Brantford and Haldimand County, among several others.

According to a police news release, he has used at least two different vehicles in these thefts, and has attached license plates stolen from Burlington and Hamilton to them.

The plate numbers are BVYZ793, BDXT007 and BCFC942.

“The suspect has been operating a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, but has also utilized an older blue GMC Safari,” a police news release reads.

“The suspect wears gloves and will fill up with regular or supreme gas.”

Not content to just fill up his SUV, the man has also been seen filling up a jerry can before driving off, police say.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 65 and 70 years old, with a medium build, white hair, glasses, and wearing gloves.
