Peel Regional Police investigate a crash between a cyclist and car Aug. 14 in the area of Knightsbridge Road and Central Park Drive that sent the cyclist to hospital with critical injuries.

Peel Regional Police believe a 26-year-old male cyclist who was struck by a car in Brampton Sunday afternoon and suffered life-threatening injuries wasn’t wearing a helmet.

Officers responded to the crash around noon at Knightsbridge Road and Central Park Drive.

Peel Region Paramedics have rushed the cyclist to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening head injuries.

The driver of the car remained on scene and is being interviewed by investigators.

Peel Const. Mark Fischer said it appears the cyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and added it’s too early to determine whether any charges will be laid.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 3710.
