The driver of a black Maserati is charged with three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain, following a collision on Queenston Road East just after 3 a.m. Sunday.

Hamilton police are looking for witnesses of a high-speed crash between a Maserati and Mercedes-Benz that sent three people to the hospital.

The black 2008 Maserati was speeding west on Queenston Road East near Kenora Avenue when it struck the silver 2007 Mercedes sports utility vehicle just after 3 a.m. Sunday.

The Italian luxury sports car then collided with two hydro poles and crashed into the Mercedes a second time, police said in a news release Monday.

The 35-year-old driver allegedly ran from the crash scene while his three passengers were taken to hospital to treat broken bones. Police later arrested him.

The 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes remained on scene, police say.

The Maserati driver, who’s from Hamilton, is charged with three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at a collision scene causing bodily harm. He was held for a bail hearing.
