Image of an OPP carAn allegedly impaired ATV rider was not wearing a helmet, according to Peterborough County OPP.

OPP report that the vehicle was stopped shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday (June 18) when officers noticed the driver was not wearing a helmet. The driver was also found to be drinking, OPP state.

Jeremy David McCloskey, 39, of Douro-Dummer Township, is charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, driving while disqualified, fail to comply with a probation order, drive with no insurance, drive under suspension and drive an ATV with no helmet.

OPP officers made two additional alcohol-related arrests on area roads this weekend as well:

  • Officers stopped a vehicle after officers saw persons throwing alcohol containers from a moving vehicle on Peterborough County Road 36, Saturday evening shortly after 7 p.m. The male driver was found to have been drinking. Trenton Jacobs, 19, of Curve Lake, was charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of his blood. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 28.
  • Citizens called in an aggressive driver on Preston Road in Selwyn Township on Saturday night shortly after 10 p.m. The female operator of a vehicle was stopped by police and found to have been drinking. Stephanie Nicole Griffin, 30, of Selwyn Township, was charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of her blood and marijuana possession.

She is scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
