An off-duty police officer was at a Dunlop Street coffee shop Friday night when his car was hit in the parking lot.

The other driver didn’t stick around to exchange insurance information and Barrie Police soon found the suspect nearby.

It turns out he was a suspended driver.

He was arrested for impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He was also fined for not stopping at a red light.

He was held until sober and given a May court date.
