The driver lost control of the vehicle and after hitting the curb, began to billow with smoke due to tire damage.
Police arrested a 22-year-old Barrie man and charged him with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams.
The man was later released on a promise to appear with a September court date.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the man’s licence has been suspended for 90 days.
