A 19-year-old Dundalk man has a date with a judge on Valentine’s Day after being stopped and charged with impaired driving by police this week.

Shortly after about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, Grey County OPP reports an officer conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Dundalk.

According to a news release, the male driver was “found to be impaired” by an undisclosed drug. Police say the driver was taken to an OPP detachment where he was evaluated by a qualified drug recognition expert.

OPP Const. Alina Grelik said she is unable to reveal what type of drug the driver is accused of being impaired by. “I’m not able to provide you with that information at this time,” she told the Banner.

Tyler Sheardown, 19, of Dundalk is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle — drug.

The charges have not been proven in court. The accused is scheduled to answer to the allegations in an Owen Sound courtroom on Feb. 14.
