Kingston Police said in a news release that at about 11:30 p.m., a man drove his vehicle up quickly behind an officer who was driving an unmarked, unequipped vehicle west on King Street. The man squealed his tires, and when the officer pulled to the side of the lane, the man sped around them. The man continued to drive erratically, nearly causing multiple collisions with the police vehicle as the officer followed, trying to get a licence plate number.
Marked police cruisers responded to help and the man was stopped on Lakeview Avenue.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged by police with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
