Three hours, six tickets on this Hanmer street
If you drive, you probably have that one stop sign in your neighbourhood that you just kind of roll through. However, Greater Sudbury Police are reminding drivers that you can’t pick and choose which traffic signals to obey and which to ignore.
After receiving multiple complaints from residents in one Hanmer neighbourhood, GSPS stationed an officer at the intersection of Lapointe Street and Glenn Street on Monday to monitor traffic.
Police say that officer didn’t have to wait long to see the complaints were justified.
Between 8 AM and 11 AM, six motorists were spotted rolling through the intersection with barely any pressure applied to the brake. All six were subsequently issued traffic tickets for failing to stop.
After several complaints regarding motorists running stop signs at this intersection in Hanmer, our #Traffic Unit conducted an isolated patrol.
From 8-11am today, 6 motorists failed to stop & were issued tickets under the HTA. 1 was caught on camera!#StopSignsAreNotStoptional pic.twitter.com/3ppuxu4oJq
