A Huntsville man has earned himself a court date in Sundridge.

On Saturday, June 29, officers from the Almaguin Highlands OPP were advised to watch for a possible stolen vehicle that may be in the Burk’s Falls area. The pickup truck had been stolen from a business in Huntsville earlier that day.

At approximately 4 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint from the public of an erratic driver north on Highway 11 exiting into Burk’s Falls. Police attended the area and observed the vehicle, which matched the description of the stolen truck from earlier. Police followed the vehicle and performed a traffic stop, resulting in the arrest of the driver, Tyler Gross, on Commercial Drive.

As a result, Gross is facing charges of operation while impaired, operation while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime and drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor.

Gross was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge on Thursday, Aug. 22 to answer to his charges.
