A traffic complaint on Highway 401 has led to a man being charged with impaired driving.

Officers from the Northumberland OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Saturday, March 30 at around 11:30 p.m.

Police were informed about a dark coloured Honda sedan driving in an aggressive manner and stopping in a live eastbound lane near Lyle Street in Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

Adam James Blackwood, 39, of Clarington was arrested and charged with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired — blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus).

He is scheduled to appear in Cobourg court on May 1.

The Northumberland OPP is reminding drivers that highway safety is a shared responsibility.
