South Simcoe police car doorAn Innisfil man literally took the situation into his own hands last night when he suspected the driver in front of him was drunk.

When the alleged impaired driver stopped at an intersection at about 10 p.m., he got out of his car and confronted the other driver.

South Simcoe Police say he was able to get the suspected drunk driver’s keys away from him.

When officers arrived the driver was arrested and taken to the station for testing.

A 40-year-old Barrie man was charged with impaired driving.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded. He will appear in court later this month.
