A man faces assault charges after allegedly reversing his car into a police cruiser during a traffic stop in Tyendinaga Township, Ontario Provincial Police say.
According to police, the man was pulled over for speeding around 1:45 AM on Thursday (April 11), but he was uncooperative.
They say the man purposefully reversed into a cruiser, narrowly missing officers.
He was then arrested and taken to a local detachment.
The 39-year-old man is charged with:
- two counts of assaulting a peace officer
- flight from police
- dangerous driving
- stunt driving
- driving with cannabis readily available
