Provincial police say a man has been charged with drunk driving after a car crashed into a house in Midland, Ont., early on Wednesday.

Police say the car collided with the house on William Street shortly before 3 a.m.

A photo from the scene shows a car that has crashed into a two-storey home, taking a chunk out of the corner of the house and coming to rest on its side.

Police say the five people inside the vehicle were taken to hospital so their injuries could be treated.

All of them have since been released.

The 27-year-old allegedly driving the car has been charged with drunk driving, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and other counts, and is due in court in Midland on Oct. 3.
