Police say the incident occurred Friday, when a 73-year-old driver lost control of his van and mounted the curb.
They say he tried to get back on the road, crashing into a minivan carrying a woman and her three-year-old daughter.
Neither was hurt.
Police say the man, whose face was injured, drove a short distance away before being arrested.
His charges include dangerous and drunk driving, and failing to remain.
