Week five of the Durham Police Festive RIDE campaign saw 13 motorists charged with drinking and driving offences.

Officers stopped more than 3,000 vehicles throughout Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Scugog and Brock Township.

They say 108 people were given roadside breath tests, with 13 people receiving 3/7/30 day suspensions for registering a ‘warn’.

These numbers show an improvement over last year, as, so far in the 2019 campaign, 81 people have been charged, while in 2018, 87 were charged.
