Police have charged two men in separate incidents with impaired driving in Northumberland County.

The first traffic stop was performed after a crash on eastbound Highway 401 on Friday, around 11 AM. Weaving through traffic and almost hitting the concrete barrier, a vehicle collided with the back of another car.

Adam David Roper, 40, of Peterborough is charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving.

In the second incident, on Monday, officers pulled over a car on Grand Road in Campbellford and determined the driver had been drinking.

Daniel Joseph O’Connell, 69, of Prince Edward County failed a roadside breath test and was charged with impaired driving, and driving without a permit.
