Peel Regional Police union president and a York Regional Police officer were both charged with impaired driving over the weekend in two separate incidents.
Ontario Provincial Police said Const. Adrian Woolley of Peel Regional Police was stopped on Saturday evening for speeding on the QEW in Burlington.
The 44-year-old from Burlington was charged with having a blood-alcohol level of over 80 mg and stunt driving.
Woolley’s Twitter account showed he was to have taken part in the Peel Polar Plunge on Saturday.

According to the Peel Regional Police Facebook page, Woolley was given a police merit award in 2017 for his contributions to the community.
The Peel Regional Police Association did not immediately comment on the matter when contacted by Global News.
The second impaired-driving charge involved Const. Tina Teeter of York Regional Police.
OPP said the 42-year-old was stopped on Highway 400 in York Region on Sunday afternoon.
Teeter was charged with having a blood-alcohol level of over 80 mg. York Regional Police confirmed the impaired-driving charge on Monday.
“This is very troubling considering the work that York Regional Police is doing to combat impaired driving,” York Regional Police Chief Eric Jolliffe said in a media release.
“We are confirming the information the OPP has released, including the officer’s identity. As this is not a YRP incident, further queries regarding this investigation should be directed to the OPP.”
Teeter, who lives in Barrie, has been a member of York Regional Police since August 2003. Police said she has been placed on administrative duties.
“We are committed to the fight against impaired driving and we hold our members to the same, if not higher, standard than members of our community,” Jolliffe said.
“We continue to remind our members of their responsibility to live the values of our organization, both on and off duty.”
