Man Accused of Running From Crash

Cops followed their nose to catch a suspected impaired driver on Christmas Day.

Around 12:45 on the morning of the 25th, OPP in Wasaga Beach got the call to Eastdale Rd. and Allenwood Beach with reports of a vehicle that had crashed into a cement barrier. Police arrived to find a witness telling them the driver went thataway into a wooded area.

With help from the K9 unit, police searched the woods and say the suspect was found shortly after. A 24-year-old man was treated on scene for a dog bite he sustained during his arrest, then taken to the police station to be charged with, among other things, failure to provide a breath sample.
