Police believe they found $3,000 worth of heroin and other drugs during a routine traffic stop Sunday night.

It happened at 11:20 p.m. at King Street West and Queen Street in downtown Kitchener. Waterloo Regional Police stopped a driver for a traffic offence and then arrested him for an administrative breach.

Officers searched the suspect and say they found about 5.3 grams of suspected heroin, along with 1.3 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and two vials of suspected fentanyl.

The suspect faces trafficking and breach of probation charges. He was held in jail for a bail hearing.
