A Stone Mills Township man has been charged by Napanee Ontario Provincial Police after they were called to a vehicle rollover on Highway 2 near the Shannonville Motor Sport Park Saturday morning.

It was about 5:30 a.m. when officers responded to the rollover. They located a grey Chevrolet Silverado on its roof in the ditch, but no driver in sight. The canine unit was requested to respond as officers believed the driver was likely injured.

Before the canine unit could arrive the driver was found walking on Highway 2 towards his home. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police said that the investigation revealed that the young driver was likely impaired by alcohol. An officer went to the hospital to complete breath tests and the man failed.

The OPP have charged 22-year-old Cody O’Connor with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millimetres of blood. O’Connor was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 19.
