A Toronto man is charged after police say thousands of drugs were located in a vehicle during a traffic stop in Scugog Township.

Durham Regional Police say an officer was driving in the area of Highway 7/12 and Scugog Line 12 just before 2 a.m. Nov. 1 when he observed a vehicle reportedly weaving on the road and travelling at a low rate of speed.

Police say the officer stopped the vehicle and detected the odour of cannabis.

The vehicle was searched and police say a quantity of drugs including cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA and crystal meth, as well as drug paraphernalia, was located.

Police say the drugs seized have a street value of more than $20,000.

Tevin Ellis, 26, of Toronto is charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as driving while under suspension. He was held for a bail hearing.
