South Simcoe Police say most of the charges were for speeding
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE
South Simcoe Police Service officers conducting targeted traffic enforcement have laid more than two dozen charges in two days. Officers focused on Community Safety Zones near schools in Bradford and Innisfil.
These areas are often the subject of reports from residents who are concerned about vehicles speeding. The majority of charges filed were for speeding but also featured a variety of traffic offences including one heavy truck with no air brake endorsement.
We are committed to road safety in our communities and urge drivers to slow down in Community Safety Zones.
These well-signed areas let motorists know they are within a zone where fines have been increased through a special designation under the Highway Traffic Act.
Many set fines are doubled, such as speeding and traffic signal related offences.
