Both drivers involved in crashes in Tiny Township this weekend

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to two incidents of impaired driving over the weekend in Tiny Township.
1) OPP officers were dispatched at 9:16 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2019, to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Tiny Concession Road 4 and Simcoe County Road 6. Investigators spoke with the driver of the vehicle travelling east on Tiny Concession Road 4 who was alone at the time of the crash and entered into a drinking and driving investigation.
As a result of this investigation, Michael Yuill 36 years of Tiny Township has been charged with the following driving offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Dec. 19, 2019. The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days and the accused’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days under the conditions of the administrative drivers licence suspension (ADLS).
The occupants of the vehicle northbound on Simcoe County Road 6 were treated for minor injuries and released at the scene by members of the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services.
2) At 9:53 a.m. on Dec. 8, 2019, OPP officers were dispatched to a report of a single-vehicle into a tree crash on Tiny Concession Road 8. Investigators were assisted by members of the Township of Tiny Fire Service and the lone female occupant was treated at the scene and then transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigation into the crash has resulted in Ivy Rose Murphy-Bath, 19 years, of Midland being charged with the following driving offence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
