A Windsor woman has been charged with impaired driving after police in Sarnia allege she had three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system while driving on Highway 402.
Police say a fellow driver on the four-lane highway called police about the woman’s driving.
The incident happened at approximately 3:27 p.m. Saturday.
The concerned driver followed the woman they suspected to be impaired, updating police with driving behaviour and location.
Responding OPP officers were eventually directed to a residential home in the town of Wyoming, where the car and driver were found.
Police allege the driver was impaired due to the consumption of alcohol.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Lambton OPP’s Petrolia detachment for a breath test.
Police say the readings showed the woman had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.
As a result, the 32 year-old was charged with:
- Driving While Ability Impaired
- Driving With More Than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood
The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 4, 2016.
