The man who was allegedly caught drinking while driving was also first spotted by a civilian, police said. He was stopped at 2:25 p.m. near Hwy. 7 and McCowan Rd. in Markham.

The woman who fell asleep at the wheel was arrested just after 5:30 p.m. Monday at Hwy. 404 and Major Mackenzie Drive.

“We consider these incidents a life-threatening crime in progress and will continue to respond to these calls,” police said.
